28 Refreshing Products That'll Help Rehydrate Your Parched Skin

Because I'm basically a human raisin.

We hope you love the products we recommend! All of them were independently selected by our editors. Just so you know, BuzzFeed may collect a share of sales or other compensation from the links on this page if you decide to shop from them. Oh, and FYI — prices are accurate and items in stock as of time of publication.

    1. A tube of Lanolips 101 ointment that'll heal your cracked lips, cuticles, heels, and anywhere else that needs a little TLC. It's so thick and luxurious, you can use it as an overnight lip mask, too.

    Brittany Barber/BuzzFeed

I keep buying this stuff over and over again because it's literally transformative. I'm currently going through an Invisalign treatment, which has had the side effect of making my mouth super dry. This stuff has been my saving grace — I will not go to bed (or wake up in the morning) without putting some on my lips. It's thick, so a little goes a loooong way. I also use a hint of it on my eyelids sometimes, to give my eyelashes a little conditioning, too.

Get it from Sephora Canada for $19.

    2. A tube of NARS tinted moisturizer that'll provide you with that light "I woke up like this" coverage, and hydrate your skin, too. Reviewers love that it doesn't leave a greasy residue behind and that it has a matte finish.

    5. This ILIA mascara that'll lengthen your lashes, without drying them out. It uses shea butter and beeswax that'll keep them feeling healthy, and stays on surprisingly well for how easy it is to take off at the end of the day.

    Brittany Barber/BuzzFeed

This mascara feels like it actually conditions my lashes when I have it on, and never feels crispy or clunky (like some do). Like, have you ever put on mascara and thought, frig, this is why my eyelashes are stunted? Yeah, that does NOT happen with this one, whatsoever. The fact that it's made with beeswax and shea butter makes me feel like I'm giving my lashes a little TLC, even though I'm wearing makeup. It also comes off super easily at night, which is great when I'm feeling lazy and don't want to deal with a full-on scrub down. And the results? The length it gives is no joke! I'm obsessed.

Get it from Sephora Canada for $18+. Available in two sizes.

    6. A bottle of Tower 28 Beauty spray that'll transform your dry, itchy, blotchy, red, and all-around-problematic skin. Reviewers say this stuff is a dream come true for anyone who has ever experienced eczema or dermatitis from wearing a mask all day.

Get it from Sephora Canada for $36. Also available in a mini size.

    7. This gigantic water bottle that'll make sure you won't run out of aqua on your next walk, workout, or five-hour stint at your WFH desk. It comes with a sleeve that'll hold your phone, cards, and keys, so yes, it's basically a purse you can drink out of.

    Amazon / Via amazon.ca

It'll hold a whopping 2.2 litres of liquid.

Get it on Amazon Canada for $25.

    8. A tin of Province Apothecary Rescue Balm that'll quench even your dryest patches with hemp seed oil, beeswax, and omegas. You'll want to rub a little in the palm of your hand to warm it up, so it can melt right in when you apply it.

    11. A bottle of Elizabeth Arden Miracle Oil that'll nourish your face, body, and hair, too. Reviewers say it's luxurious, but lightweight, and love how soft 'n' silky it makes their skin and tresses.

    12. A cute shower cap that'll help your hair mask absorb into your parched locks. It'll also come in handy when you're doing overnight hair treatments and don't want to grease up your pillowcase.

A person taking a selfie in a mirror in a towel wearing the shower cap
    Brittany Barber/BuzzFeed

I never owned a shower cap before this one, but am mighty glad I finally tried one out. I always thought they were for one purpose only: not getting your hair wet. But then I realized they can be much, much more. I use mine every time I put a hair mask on, to lock in its benefits with help from the heat that gets trapped inside (and to keep it from making a mess). I also use it in the shower, after I've put conditioner in my hair. See, I always wait until the end of my routine to wash it out, so using a shower cap makes sure I don't pre-emptively wash it out (plus, it keeps the product off of my acne-prone back and shoulders).

Get it on Simons for $9.50.

    13. A tube of Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen that'll keep the sun from zapping the moisture out of your face. It's completely transparent, so it won't leave a weird white cast on your face like a lot of other SPFs.

    A bottle of super goop
    @supergoop / Via instagram.com

It's a lightweight gel consistency that is oil free, scentless, waterproof, and won't mess up your makeup if you use it as a primer, either.

Get it from Sephora Canada for $45.

    14. A bottle of The Ordinary's hyaluronic acid that'll make you wonder how you ever lived without it. Just pat a few drops onto your face right before you moisturize and watch your skin gobble up that hydration!

A bottle of hyaluronic acid with its dropper
    Brittany Barber/BuzzFeed

I started using this when I came back to Canada after spending a year in a hot 'n' humid climate. So when my face felt winter air again, it was like, WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS TO ME? Every time I put moisturizer on it just sat on top of my wildly dry skin, no matter what I tried. And my nose? Flake city. Not cute. After hearing rave reviews about The Ordinary, I went into Deciem and spoke to one of their beauty specialists, who basically threw this bottle at me. They put a drop of hyaluronic acid on my left hand and added moisturizer, then added only moisturizer to my right hand for comparison. One minute later, my left hand had absorbed all of the moisture, and my right had a white cast of cream left on it. I was sold, and now I can't live without it.

Get it from Sephora Canada for $6.80. It's also available in a value size, which is great if you plan to use it all over your bod.

    15. A hefty Brita water dispenser that's slim enough not to take up your entire fridge, but definitely big enough to last you a couple of days before having to refill it.

A person dispensing water out of the brita jug and into a glass
    Amazon / Via amazon.ca

It comes with a filter, but you'll probably want to grab a pack so you're ready when it's time to replace it.

Get it on Amazon Canada for $45.33.

    16. A bottle of organic neem oil that can help with flaky skin, hyperpigmentation, and acne scars. Oddly enough, it can also help to cure your plants from a spider mite infestation and bring 'em back to life!

A bottle of organic cold pressed and unrefined neem oil
    Amazon / Via amazon.ca

Get it on Amazon Canada for $23.99.

    17. A tube of Fresh Soy Face Cleanser that'll also remove your makeup (yes, even your mascara). It has a gel-like consistency that'll leave your face feeling ultra soft, refreshed, and not stripped of its moisture.

    Brittany Barber/BuzzFeed

K, I know this cleanser is on the more expensive side of the spectrum, but I literally can't use any other face wash. It NEVER breaks me out, irritates my skin, or feels drying. I love that this stuff removes the added step of using a makeup remover (and that it also saves me from buying yet another face product). It glides on smoothly and is super gentle on my skin. I use it day and night, every single day.

Get it from Sephora Canada for $49.

    18. A shower filter that'll soften hard water and help to reduce chlorine, metals, and odours. Reviewers say installing this baby has helped them to deal with eczema and dry scalp issues.

It comes with an extra filter cartridge, too.

Get it on Amazon Canada for $27.99.

    19. A foldable foot basin that'll let you soak those barkin' dogs until your dead skin is soft enough to scrub off. It has built-in massage rollers that'll knead your achy arches, too.

    Amazon / Via amazon.ca

Pair it with an Epsom salt soak and let the home spa vibes unfurl.

Get it on Amazon Canada for $45. Available in three colours.

    20. A tub of First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream that'll undoubtedly quench your skin's thirst, without irritating it. This stuff is highly viscous, so you'll probably want to use it at night or on days when you're just hangin' at home. It has allantoin in it, too, which can help soothe eczema.

    21. A pack of Pedialyte freeze pops that'll rehydrate you with a dose of electrolytes (in freezie form!). It's great for days when you haven't been inspired to drink some plain old H2O, or when that hangover hits in a special way.

Get a pack of 16 on Amazon Canada for $9.77.

    22. A trio of lotion sticks that'll save your brittle hands when you're on the go. They're packed with organic shea butter and vitamin E, so you can start reversing the damage inflicted by constantly washing and sanitizing.

They can use 'em wherever else on their bod needs a hit of hydration, too.

Get a pack of three on Amazon Canada for $14.99. Available in five scents (and unscented, too).

    23. These hydrating eye masks that'll pump some life back into your under-eye area. Reviewers recommend tossing them in the fridge prior to use, because it can help de-puff (especially when you're hungover).

You can also use it in the shower as a super-luxe conditioner.

Get it from Sephora Canada for $37. Also available in a mini size.

    25. A silk pillowcase that won't soak up your expensive night cream (like cotton pillowcases tend to do). It'll keep your hair from breaking while you rest your sweet lil' head at night, too.

    Simons / Via simons-ca.c2ukkg.net, Brittany Barber/BuzzFeed

    K. I finally bought a silk pillowcase, and let me tell you: I wish I had done it sooner! I love how soft and cool it feels on my face, and the fact that it has literally transformed my day two curls. After sleeping on a regular cotton pillowcase, my curls would be a frizzy mess and I'd have to style 'em again (or just take a shower). Now? They're just as nice as they were before I hit the hay. And yes, this baby is 100% silk.

Get it from Simons for $60. Also available in white.

    26. A Laneige sleeping lip mask that'll plump and hydrate your lips overnight. Packed with antioxidants and hyaluronic acid, you'll probably end up using it as an extra-strength lip balm during the day, too, because it's just so ~luxe~.

Get it from Sephora Canada for $26. Available in eight flavours.

    27. A bottle of Olaplex Bonding Oil that'll revitalize your damaged locks and tame your frizz. It's super sheer, so it won't weigh down your hair or make your tresses feel greasy at all.

    Brittany Barber/BuzzFeed

I am super happy with this little bottle of magic. It actually feels like it's penetrating through my hair cuticle to repair my hair, instead of just sitting on top of it. It's lightweight, so it doesn't make my hair heavy or greasy whatsoever, yet it still tames my wavy hair's excessive frizz. It's a thinner consistency, but packs a punch in every drop. You only need to rub a few drops between your palms every time you use it, so it'll last you a while.

(When I do a straighter hairstyle, I'll use a squirt of my Verb Ghost Oil on wet hair right after I get out of the shower. I'll blowdry with my Revlon One-Step Brush, and then finish it off with the Olaplex No. 7 Oil. The combination is perfection.)

Get it from Sephora for $38.

    28. And finally, a pack of hydration stickers that'll help you make sure you drink your eight cups a day. They're perfect for bullet journals or agendas — just colour in a drop every time you finish a glass.

A sheet of hydrate stickers with the word "hydrate" and eight water drops to fill on each sticker
    Etsy / Via etsy.com

Get two sheets (that's 56 stickers) from MomentumPlanning on Etsy for $3.95.
