Response to Rave Kids In The ’90s Vs. Rave Kids Today:
Judging only by the pictures the only difference between raves in the 90’s and raves now is that people wear less clothes in public now.
1. First of all why the fuck is Mountain Dew seeking someone like Tyler the Creator in the first place? Do they know anything about him/Odd Future? 2.Like his manager said, this is a guy raised on Dave Chapelle - who challenged racial stereotypes by satirizing them…which is exactly what Tyler did with this commercial. Is everyone going to see that right away? No. Not everyone is familiar with Tyler and/or Odd Future. 3. The dude from Trash Talk is in a Mtn Dew commercial. Not relevant to the rest of this post…I just like that band.
Why…would….they be…on a…college…campus…so much for getting my masters degree.

I love people again. Thanks, Buzzfeed.
I completely disagree with everyone who is saying this article is irrelevant or that its purpose is to glorify the Tsarnaev brothers. As concerned citizens I think we should know as much as we can about these guys. The purpose of this article obviously isn’t to communicate a message of “hey these guys did it because they were into hip-hop” or “see what happens when you listen to that rapping music?”. The article deepens our understanding of the suspects’ sociopolitical beliefs, showing that it runs as deep as some of their musical preferences. No one is saying they did it because of Dre or Jedi Mind Tricks or whomever. No one is saying that because that’s an absurd notion. But no one knows why they did it. And if we dismiss information no matter how seemingly minor or otherwise then we’ll never truly understand. And I think we have a right to know as concerned citizens.
