Why 2001 Was The Year Of Surprising Celebrity Arrests

Or maybe not so surprising. It also proved to be a spectacular year in celebrity mug shots.

Terrence Howard

Terrence was arrested in September 2001, following an argument with his estranged wife. He was charged with simple assault, terroristic threats, harassment and stalking.

Howard pleaded guilty in 2002 to disorderly conduct.

Natasha Lyonne


Arrested on August 28, 2001, by Miami Beach police and charged with DUI. Nastasha ending up pleading guilty to drunk driving and was sentenced to probation, community service, and had her license suspended.

Vanilla Ice was arrested in Florida in January 2001 after allegedly putting his hand over his wife's mouth and pulling some of her hair out during an argument.

Ice was sentenced to probation for two years and ordered to attend family counseling.


Vince Vaughn

Vince was arrested on April 12, 2001, by North Carolina cops and charged with fighting in public for his part in a brawl outside a New Hanover County bar (he was in town working on the movie 'Domestic Disturbance'). His co-star Steve Buscemi was stabbed several times in the fight.

Vince entered a no contest plea and the minor charge was dropped six months later.

Scott Weiland

Scott (lead singer of Stone Temple Pilots), was arrested by Las Vegas police in November 2001 and charged with battering his wife.

He pleaded guilty in December 2001 and was sentenced to probation and paid a fine.

Yasmine Bleeth

The former Baywatch star was arrested in September 2001 by Michigan police and charged with cocaine possession.

She pleaded guilty to one criminal count and was sentenced in January 2002 to two years probation and 100 hours of community service.

Marilyn Manson

Marilyn Manson was arrested in September, 21, 2001, after he allegedly shoved his crotch in the face of security guard during a concert outside of Detroit. He was charged with criminal sexual conduct.

Manson pleaded no contest to a reduced misdemeanor charge, and paid a $4000 fine.

Robert Iler

The Sopranos star was arrested in New York City, in July 2001, and charged with robbery and possession of marijuana.

Robert pleaded guilty in April 2002, to a misdemeanor charge of petty larceny and received three years probation.
