LeBron James Called Out Laura Ingraham For Her Double Standard In The Way She Talks About Black Athletes Vs. White Athletes

"If you still haven’t figured out why the protesting is going on. Why we’re acting as we are is because we are simply F-N tired of this treatment right here!"

In case you don't know who Laura Ingraham is, she is a right-wing, pro-Trump, Fox News personality who hosts a primetime show on the network called The Ingraham Angle.

Over the years, she has said many controversial things, including ridiculing a Parkland shooting survivor, downplaying the coronavirus, and defending a white supremacist.

And in 2018, she publicly criticized LeBron James and Kevin Durant, telling them to "shut up and dribble!" after the two had criticized Trump in a video.

For his part, at the time, LeBron responded to Laura indirectly, saying, "I will not just shut up and dribble. So, thank you, whatever her name is. ... I get to sit up here and talk about what’s really important and how I can help change kids."

LeBron James on whether he felt Fox News commentator’s “shut up and dribble” comments were “racist”

Which brings us to last night, when Laura took a very different tone on her show and defended New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees (a white man) — who was getting, frankly, lots of well-deserved criticism for, again, misconstruing Colin Kaepernick's and other NFL players' national anthem protests as being anti-military and disrespectful to the flag.

Drew has since apologized for his comments.

Laura said of Drew that "he is allowed to have his view" and "is a person and has some worth."

Of course, Laura's hypocrisy did not go unnoticed, and Complex Sports tweeted out these back-to-back videos that point out how different her tones are:

Laura Ingraham to LeBron and KD: “Shut up and dribble!” To Drew Brees: “He’s allowed to have an opinion.” 🧐

And LeBron, himself, also took to Twitter to respond to Laura's double standard:

If you still haven’t figured out why the protesting is going on. Why we’re acting as we are is because we are simply F-N tired of this treatment right here! Can we break it down for you any simpler than this right here???? 🤦🏾‍♂️. And to my people don’t worry I won’t stop until I see https://t.co/e4pJ0PvwJj

Specifically, LeBron addressed how the video overall demonstrates just how black Americans are treated vs. white Americans when doing the exact same things:

LeBron also added he wasn't going to stop being an activist until he sees change. And he also created this subtweet hashtag: #ShutUpAndDribbleThisPowerfulBlackManComingFullSteam

CHANGE!!! #ShutUpAndDribbleThisPowerfulBlackManComingFullSteam💨💨💨💨💨

All I have to say is: LeBron has been using his platform for a very long time to speak out about injustices and other important issues, and that's another reason why he is truly the GOAT.
