Here’s What The Cast Of “Grease” Looks Like Now

    Grease OMG is the word!

    John Travolta as Danny Zuko

Fun fact: Before Travolta landed the role of Danny, producers wanted to cast Henry Winkler in the part. Winkler turned down the role because it was too similar to his iconic character, Fonzie, on Happy Days.

    Olivia Newton-John as Sandy Olsson

Fun fact: In the stage version of Grease, Sandy’s last name is actually Dumbrowski, and she isn't from Australia (she's American). When Newton-John (who is Australian) was cast in the role, Sandy’s nationality (along with her last name) were changed to tailor the role more to her.

    Stockard Channing as Rizzo

Fun fact: Channing was the oldest of the “teenage” cast members: She was 33 years old during filming.

    Barry Pearl as Doody

Fun fact: John Travolta actually played Doody in the first national stage tour of Grease.

    Dinah Manoff as Marty Maraschino

Fun fact: Manoff went on to star on the successful Golden Girls spin-off Empty Nest.

    Jamie Donnelly as Jan

Fun fact: Donnelly also played Jan in the Broadway production of Grease.

    Kelly Ward as Putzie

Fun fact: Ward has gone on to have a successful career in television animation as a writer and voice director.

    Eddie Deezen as Eugene Felnick

Fun fact: With only two lines, Deezen had the fewest lines of any actor in the movie.

    Susan Buckner as Patty Simcox

Fun fact: During filming, Buckner dated co-star Jeff Conaway (Kenickie).

    Lorenzo Lamas as Tom Chisum

Fun fact: In order to get the role, Lamas was asked to dye his dark brown hair blond to avoid looking like a T-Bird. He was also the only actual teenager in the film; he was 19 during filming.

    Didi Conn as Frenchy

Fun fact: Conn was the only actor (excluding the actors who played the teachers and school administrators) to reprise her role in Grease 2.

Jeff Conway, who played Kenickie, sadly passed away in 2011. RIP Kenickie.
