7 Things You Should Know About Germany's "Die Mannschaft"

For now Germany is undefeated in 2017 (inter alia: England 1:0; Chile 1:0) and hasn't lost a match since the semi-finals of the European Championship in 2016. These are more than 15 matches in a row! So it is not remarkable they are leading the FIFA World Rankings.

2. Germany Won The Confederations-Cup In 2017 With A 'B-Team'

After defeating Australia (3:2) and Cameroon (3:1) and sharing the points with Chile (1:1) in the group stage of the Confederations Cup, Germany reached the semi-final in which they won 4:1 against Mexico.

On 02 July 2017 Germany won 1:0 against Chile and held the trophy in their hands.

3. The Younger Generation: U21-European Champions

Not only the A-Team of Germanys Football Team was successful this year, also the Younger Generation!

Which means that in case of a defeat in 2018 there will be a good backup for 2022!

4. Injuries During The Football Seasons!

Neuer and Boateng are/were injured in the year 2017, which means it can happen, that Jogi Löw will not have access to them in the next year!

Manuel Neuer had a surgery in September 2017 and will not be able to play for at least 4 months.

Boateng just came back from a long injury which blocked him the whole year.

Bastian Schweinsteiger, Philipp Lahm, Miroslav Klose and Lukas Podolski are players with a former high position in Germanys National Team. Schweinsteigers' last match was in 2016, Podolski played his last match in March 2017 and Philipp Lahm wore the jersey in July 2014 for the last time, he also retired from professional football in 2017. Miroslav Klose announced his retirement one month after the WC 2014 final and also retired from the professional football level in 2016.
