This Is How Much Electricity You Need To Grow 600 Cannabis Plants

Two men were taken to Newtown Police Station and will appear in court later today.

Sydney police have raided a building in Mascot, near Sydney airport, and seized millions of dollars worth of cannabis.

An incredibly large hydroponic setup was found inside the building, made up of over 600 plants. Two men - a 53-year-old and a 38-year-old - were stopped in their vehicle later and taken into custody at Newtown Police Station.

There was a huge amount of electricity being used to run the site without authority, which carries a separate charge.

The older man was charged with cultivating a large commercial quantity of a prohibited plant and using electricity without authority, said NSW Police in a release.
