Max Brenner Has Gone Into Sad, Chocolatey Administration

But stores will still remain open! For now...

Fancy chocolate chain Max Brenner entered voluntary administration in Australia on Sunday, appointing an administrator to help sort out the business' rising costs.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports McGrathNicol has been appointed as the administrator and is already discussing whether selling the business is the right way to go.

Max Brenner began in Israel, before husband and wife Tom and Lilly Haikin brought it to Australia in 2000. There are 37 Max Brenner locations across Australia.

Last year, the Australian Financial Review reported the business owed around $50 million.

While the chocolate-maker might be in trouble, Aussie stores will remain open for the foreseeable future.
