Gabel Tostee, the man accused of murdering New Zealand tourist Warriena Wright at his Gold Coast apartment last year, has been released on parole after serving six months of his 10-month prison sentence for a drunken high-speed chase in July, 2014.

Tostee was charged with murder in August 2014, after he invited Ms Wright to his Gold Coast apartment for drinks.

Tostee allegedly recorded the night's activities on his phone, and it is claimed by police that he can be heard locking a distressed Wright on his balcony. It is alleged Wright then tried to climb to a lower balcony from Tostee's 14th floor apartment, but slipped and fell to her death.

Tostee was a renowned playboy on the Gold Coast club scene, boasting about his sexual encounters on social media, News Corp reports.

He was also a frequent poster on the Bodyspace bodybuilding forum under the account "GT".

"Banged two girls tonight. First one was 4/10 not really worth mentioning didn't look like her pics and I couldn't even finish. Needed a slump buster since I haven't had a new girl in over a week," he allegedly wrote.

Tostee is on bail and living with his parents while he awaits a committal hearing over the alleged murder of Ms Wright.
