UPDATE: The Gold Coast man who fled Main Beach's Omeros Bros Restaurant after eating $621 worth of seafood has been identified as aspiring rapper Terry Peck, otherwise known as "2Pec."
The 33-year-old appeared in court on Monday morning charged with stealing and two counts of serious assault of a police officer.
Outside court, Peck spoke with ABC News and critiqued his seafood meal, calling the lobster "overcooked."
Peck was granted bail but must reside at his home address in Labrador and not return to Omeros Bros.

A man on Australia's Gold Coast sat down for a feast at a multi award winning seafood restaurant on Sunday before running onto the beach and swimming into the sea, allegedly in order to avoid payment. He refused to return to shore.
A report from Queensland Police says the man ordered and consumed a "substantial amount of seafood and alcohol" at the restaurant from around 4:45pm on Sunday afternoon. The Courier Mail lists the man's full degustation as two lobsters, baby octopus, 21 vodka oyster shots and "a number of Coronas".
When the man allegedly fled from the restaurant without paying he was chased on foot by staff before the man jumped into the ocean at Surfers Paradise's Main Beach.
The man allegedly refused to return to land, so police were forced to ask lifeguards to tow them out to the man on the back of jet skis.
"Police will allege they attempted to negotiate with the man to exit the water by himself, but he refused," says a statement from Queensland Police. "Police were then forced to enter the water and apprehend the man, bringing him back to shore without incident."
The man will appear in court on Monday morning facing charges of stealing and serious assault of a police officer.
