Women's Lore by Sarah Clegg. An amazing read on how mermaids and succubi, etc were all sexualised before being reclaimed as feminist symbols, going from ancient times to today. Despite the subject matter, a vastly enjoyable book and an easy read too, not too academic. I strongly recommend…Â
I'm sure it's been said multiple times but the Lord of the Rings trilogy is the best example of an adaptation. So clear that everyone involved loved the books and wanted to do it properly. Christopher Lee, who had met Tolkien, was also a massive help with costuming and weaponry and…Â
The episode of The Simpsons where Homer finally meets his mother only for her to have to leave again. The ending with him on his car just staring at the sky is so sad

As for Quirrel, the books make it clear Harry was unconscious when he died, so he never saw the death
The final scene in Blackadder Goes Forth. Their desperation to figure out a scheme and a way out and then the resignation when they realise this is it. To this day, the music and the field of poppies still make me cry
My friend dragged me to see LaLa Land, cause she was super excited for it. We were both so disappointed to the point where we swore out loud when we realised there was still one season left to go through and the movie wasn't over yet
