The thing that is amazing about this to me is that Johnny Depp starred in what has got to be one of the absolute best revisionist Westerns, an excellent movie called DEAD MAN by Jim Jarmusch. It’s one of my favorite films of all time. Depp plays a white accountant from Cleveland by the name of William Blake (same as the poet), who in the process of dying from a gunshot wound, is befriended by a Native American man named Nobody and goes on to kill scores of white men. It’s one of the best movies I’ve ever seen, and was heartily embraced by the Native American community. It’s Depp’s finest turn as far as I’m concerned. THE LONE RANGER, however, looks like summer popcorn hot garbage, and I’m dismayed that Depp would take on the role of Tonto. Is he blinded by blockbuster money these days? The guy is one of our best actors and his last decade of work has been pretty cartoonish. Come back Johnny Depp!!

This is the best thing I’ve ever seen. And I’ve only had three drinks so far today.
