THE APX UNVEILS GALACTIC MUSIC VIDEO FOR SOULFUL FUNK JAM “JUPITER”

The year may be almost over but The APX's ascent through 2018 continues as the husband/wife duo release their music video for their new single “Jupiter.” 'Electrik Funk', Dee Rhodes and Erika Rhodes’ 1st studio project, was released last year with amazing worldwide reception and now they are following it up with their recently released funky single “Jupiter”. Like many of their past releases, “Jupiter” takes you back to a time when funk ran supreme! The song was written earlier this year and quickly became a fan favorite as The APX performed it live during their recent west coast tour. Inspired by earlier married funk duos that came before them such as Yarbrough and Peoples, Ashford and Simpson and more, The APX harnesses the sound of a pulsating synth bass with powerhouse funky vocals on top to bring you a special dose of boogie, funk and soul you’ve been missing! They now present their upcoming second self-edited music video for ”Jupiter.” Taking inspiration from early 80s music videos from some of their favorite bands like Cameo, The APX dives into a retro, and colorful new world. The video features sexy robots, kaleidoscopes, rockets, outer space, astronauts and of course the keytar-wielding/synth playing duo themselves! Even their pet poodle Teddy makes a celebrity appearance. Filmed on green screen in Atlanta’s legendary Studio Space, "Jupiter" showcases the spontaneous Dee and Erika making their way thru an adventurous new fantasy world of their adaptation of what planet Jupiter would be to them. The outer space music video was filmed by Atlanta filmmaker Reggie Miller, who also co-directed The APX's prior music video “Right on Time" (from the album “Electrik Funk Deluxe"). Miller, who is an accomplished cinematographer, has captured such high profile Atlanta subjects such as Gucci Mane, Jhonni Blaze, DCYoung Fly, Zaytoven and many others. “Working with The APX is amazing because they always know exactly what they want,” says Miller, “They’re able to do they’re own editing and visual effects which makes our job simpler.” Also, co-directing this video was Daniel McDowell who is right hand to Atlanta based celebrity video director Derek Blanks (TI, Fantasia, Chrisette Michelle)As a rare husband/wife funk duo, their mission is to keep soulful funk alive. “We embarked on making this music video outof the ordinary using space visuals to match the galactic synths of the track,” says Dee Rhodes, “We're just two indie lovebirds residing in Atlanta with a dream of traveling the world to save it from the soul-less music. We strongly believe in the FUNK and our presence is a message that says - yes, the funk is alive and well!"
