1. Smoking Goose Meatery

It's not a cookout without getting the grill going! Smoking Goose Meatery is a great choice for your meat choices -- go with their apple wood smoked bacon; their duck, pear and port sausages; or their lomo pork loin, and you'll never go wrong. Check out their website here for more information.

2. Joe's Butcher Shop + Fish Market

Wanting more of a fish or seafood option? Head just north of

the city to Carmel and you'll find what you need -- sporting an impressive menu filled with meats, cheeses, and wines, Joe's is the place for party platters or just pounds and pounds of protein goodness. Grilled salmon, Delmonico steak, sounds delicious, right? You can learn more about the shop right here.

3. Traders Point Creamery

Fresh, simple, organic -- Traders Point Creamery brings fresh cheese straight from the farm to your burger. Top your burgers their organic White Cheddar -- or for the vegetarian, a grilled Portobello and Swiss burger. Decadent. Check out about the farm and their pledge to creating a local food community at their website here.

4. Original Farmer's Market

Want a taste of real Indiana produce? The Original Farmer's Market at the Indianapolis City Market brings the best grown fruits and vegetables to Indianapolis. 5. Pogue's Run Grocer

On the same vein, Pogue's Run Grocer has everything good and local. Vegan options, Smoking Goose bacon (and other organic meats), locally made chips and salsas -- their selection is impressive. As a project of the Indy Food Coop, Pogue's Run Grocer wants to bring only the best to the community (and your summer cookout parties)! Learn more on their website and Facebook.

6. Broad Ripple Chip Co.

When I mentioned some of the other companies listed above, I forgot to mention these guys! Broad Ripple Chip Co. was just launched last year, but it has seen an incredible success in the past few weeks -- you can find their chips at Joe's Butcher Shop, Pogue's Run Grocer, Goose the Market, and a number of other local stores. I wish the best to these guys! Like them on Facebook and watch as this company grows.

7. Lava Lips

Get your sauce on with Lava Lips! Whether you're a hot sauce novice or a seasoned pro, Lava Lips has the best sauces for your cookout. Spice up your meats and vegetables with some of their signature sauces, load up your chips with their large selection of salsas, and check out their meat rubs! Check out their products and set up a tasting party online.

8. Lick Ice Cream

The best summer cookouts have ice cream, and if you're going to get ice cream, you'd best check out Lick! I posted about them a few weeks ago and I'm extremely impressed with their flavor selection and aesthetic. You can pick up a pint (or three) every Saturday -- to see their schedule and menu, you can check out their Facebook and Tumblr.

9. Newfangled Confections

And there's nothing better than toppings on your ice cream! Newfangled Confections brings vegan and gluten-free treats to make your ice cream a masterpiece. Their sweet & spicy pecans, buttered pecan pralines, and their trademark peanut butter Frittles can all be chopped or crumbled for an ice cream topping like no other. Learn more here on their website.

10. United State of Indiana Coozies

Cookouts aren't all about the food -- gotta have these two essentials as well! United State of Indiana just rolled out these new coozies a few days ago, and at $5 a pop, these bad boys can keep your drinks cold and stylish. Plus, everyone's going to be jealous, so you're going to have to get a few for your best friends as well, right? Right.

11. Indianapolis Colts Sportula

Ready to show that you're a real fan? An Indiana original product, the Sportula features a cool image of your favorite Hoosier sports team with a hard maple handle and a convenient bottle opener at the other end. Not much of a football fan? No worries, they've got the Pacers and collegiate Sportulas as well. You've gotta hand it to them, this is pretty neat.

Now go out and fire up those grills -- now there's no excuse not to!
