Classic Cocktails That You Should Know How To Make

Stop chugging that keg beer, and put a little class in your drink! You don't want to seem like a brute when you can't even mix a nice stiff cocktail. We've got you covered. Here are the essential drinks needed to impress!

  • The Martini

    2½ oz gin, 1½ oz dry vermouth, 3 green olives

  • Rinse martini glass in dry vermouth and pour out. Shake gin with ice until chilled. Pour into martini glass. Add olives.

  • The Manhattan

    1¾ oz bourbon, ¾ oz of sweet vermouth, 1 dash of aromatic bitters, 1 Maraschino cherry

  • Pour bitters, liquors over ice in mixing glass. Stir and strain into martini glass. Garnish with a Maraschino cherry.

  • The Old Fashioned

    2 dashes aromatic bitters, ½ tsp sugar dissolved with water and bitters, 1½ oz of bourbon, 1 cherry, 1 orange slice, 1 lemon wedge

  • Fill glass with ice. Add cherry, orange slice, and lemon wedge. Pour in bourbon. Serve in a rocks glass over ice.

  • Mint Julep

    2 oz bourbon, 8 sprigs of mint, 1 tsp of sugar

  • Put mint and sugar with a dash of water in mixing glass. Add shaved ice and bourbon. Shake until frosted and pour all into rocks glass. Garnish with a mint sprig.

  • The Gin & Tonic

    2 oz gin, 5 oz tonic water, 1 lime wedge

  • Pour the gin and the tonic water into a highball glass almost filled with ice cubes. Stir well. Garnish with the lime wedge.

  • The Whiskey Sour

    2 oz whiskey, ½ oz fresh lemon juice, ½ oz tsp sugar, 1 cherry, ½ lemon slice

  • Put all ingredients in mixing glass and add ice cubes. Strain into highball glass. Add lemon slice and cherry to garnish.
