1. First, the Oscars on Sunday. There’s no reason to think they will turn out any differently for Eddie, but the nomination is acknowledgment of his brilliance – and we’ll see him on the red carpet and as a presenter for sure.

2. There’s still an OBE to be awarded. Ah, the chance to see Eddie in white tie and tails and Hannah in palace-appropriate maternity wear and a hat. Or perhaps Prince William will award it to his former Eton classmate, and they can chat about fatherhood. The lads’ meeting last year at a polo match after not having seen each other since school days was a delightful photo opp.

3. And speaking of fatherhood, what could be more exciting than Eddie becoming a dad? The due date for him and wife Hannah Bagshawe is said to be in June, and while the sex is unknown, with Eddie’s newfound gender awareness through his research for The Danish Girl, isn’t pink or blue actually irrelevant?

4. We still have yet to see Eddie in a real Omega watch campaign after being named the brand’s ambassador last year. If the advance pictures are any indication, it will be a stunner.

5. And in November – Fantastic Beasts. Becoming part of the Harry Potter wizarding world takes Eddie’s career to a whole new level. We have the usual spate of trailers, promos, magazine covers, articles, interviews and premieres to which to look forward. Him uttering “Lumos maxima” already has hearts fluttering.
