Miley Cyrus Said Wildfires "Destroyed" The Things She Couldn't Let Go In A Candid Instagram Post About Her New Album

"I thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record with its songs and sounds but my whole life."

Miley Cyrus has kickstarted the weekend with some pretty great news — she's releasing a new album!

The singer made the announcement on social media, revealing that her long-awaited seventh album would be titled Plastic Hearts and will drop November 27.

And on Twitter, she appeared to reveal that the album will have a rock influence, similar to a number of covers she's been doing lately.

But in a lengthy caption on Instagram, the "Midnight Sky" singer explained why the album had taken so long and emotionally opened up about losing her home in the Californian wildfires two years ago.

Back in 2018, Miley revealed that she and then-fiancé Liam Hemsworth had lost their house in the fires, tweeting that she was "completely devastated" but "grateful" for the memories and what she had left.

all I have left. Sending so much love and gratitude to the firefighters and LA country Sheriff’s department! If you are interested in getting involved see next tweet.... Donate $ , Time , Supplies I love you more than ever , Miley

"I began this album over [two] years ago," Miley began her post on Thursday night. "[I] thought I had it all figured out. Not just the record with its songs and sounds but my whole fucking life."

Speaking about the wildfires, Miley revealed that the music she had made and written in journals and notebooks was all lost but that she had been hopeful of a new beginning.

Although she didn't mention him by name, it's possible that the "huge chapter missing" is in regards to Miley starting anew following the loss of her house and breakdown of her marriage to Liam.

"Well that's 'the plan' anyway — had one of those before," Miley finished on a lighter note. "But seriously — it's really coming. Think you'll love it. If you don't — fuck you."

News of Miley's seventh record comes after she recently revealed in an interview that she'd been working on an album of Metallica covers. However, it's unclear if Plastic Hearts is a different project altogether.

But either way, set your alarms for November 27 because Miley's coming.
