2015 You're Great And I'ma Let You Finish, But 2006 Had The Best Music Of All Time

100% certain to make you feel old AF.

    1. Chamillionaire feat. Krayzie Bone – "Ridin'"

    Universal

It's difficult to hear this song and not think of the remix, "White & Nerdy", which was just as good as the original.

    2. Ne-Yo – "So Sick"

    Def Jam

Everybody was a little sick of this song by the end of the year, but it's still a classic.

    3. Rihanna – "SOS"

    Def Jam

Rihanna was still on top back in 2006; some things just never change.

    4. Corinne Bailey Rae – "Put Your Records On"

    EMI

You forgot about this one, didn't you? GUUUUUURL GO PUT THIS RECORD ON RIGHT NOW AND REMINISCE.

    5. The Pussycat Dolls – "Beep"

    Interscope

The best bit about this song was filling in the beeps for yourself. There were a lot of creative versions floating about the playgrounds.

    6. Shakira feat. Wyclef Jean – "Hips Don't Lie"

    Epic

Shakira let her hips do the talking and you probably loved every damn minute. Like literally how does her body move like that? 😭

    7. Gnarls Barkley – "Crazy"

    Downtown Records

This song drove everybody crazy because it was number one for about 92% of 2006.

    8. Red Hot Chili Peppers – "Dani California"

    Warner Bros

This song is still one of those timeless classics you can jump about drunkenly to while wailing at the top of your lungs.

    9. The Pussycat Dolls feat. Snoop Dogg – "Buttons"

    Interscope

Nicole and the dolls were pretty limber in this video – anybody for a standing split, or nah?

    10. Cassie – "Me & U"

    Atlantic

Tiësto tried his hardest to make this happen again, but nothing beats the original.

    11. Nelly Furtado feat. Timbaland – "Promiscuous"

    Mosley

Nelly Furtado, Timbaland, and Justin Trousersnake were something of a squad in 2006. Petition to bring that back.

    12. Busta Rhymes – "Touch It"

    Interscope

The song was great but the remix was even better, what with the cheerleaders providing some much needed slay.

    13. Rihanna – "Unfaithful"

    Def Jam

Rihanna wasn't happy with just releasing "SOS"; she also wanted you to jump in the feels with "Unfaithful" and it's still iconic.

    14. Nelly Furtado – "Maneater"

    Mosley

Let's be honest, Nelly Furtado basically made the phrase "maneater" a ~thing~.

    15. Pink – "Who Knew"

    LaFace

Pink might be a rocker, but she knew how to break everybody's heart in 2006 with this power punch to the feels. And the video 😭😭😭😭

    16. Sandi Thom – "I Wish I Was A Punk Rocker (With Flowers In My Hair)"

    BMG

2006 was also a time for hippies to have their time; remember Sandi Thom anybody?

    17. Christina Aguilera – "Ain't No Other Man"

    RCA

Xtina had left her "Dirrty" side behind in 2006 but still slayed with bangers like this one.

    18. Snow Patrol – "Chasing Cars"

    Interscope / Via instantreplay.tumblr.com

*Sings "If I just lay here"*

    *Sheds single tear*

    *One tear becomes a flood*

    *Drowns in the feels*

    19. Beyoncé feat. Jay Z – "Déjà Vu"

    Columbia

Bey and Jay together have always been a sure bet for a banger, and they didn't disappoint. Also, Bey performed this song live wearing a mini skirt of bananas, so there's that.

    20. Fedde Le Grand – "Put Your Hands Up 4 Detroit"

    Flamingo Recordings

You didn't have to be from Detroit to start jumping about like a fool when this came on. The video was just weird though, even for 2006 standards.

    21. Lily Allen – "Smile"

    Regal

Lily jumped onto the scene with this sass-track. We weren't smiling about the whole dress and trainers thing though.

    22. Paolo Nutini – "Last Request"

    Atlantic

Paolo was a beautiful crooner back in 2006 and you probably still can't decide whether you loved his voice or his face more.

    23. Fergie – "London Bridge"

    Interscope

When you heard that opening "OH SHIT', you knew it was about to go down on the dance floor. But also, why don't the palace guards actually dance like this every day?

    24. Justin Timberlake feat. Timbaland – "SexyBack"

    Jive

The name's Timberlake. Justin Timberlake. James Bond didn't have anything on JT in the video for Sexyback. And you know that every time that beat kicks in, Justin's about to make you feel things in the loin area.

    25. Akon feat. Eminem – "Smack That"

    Konvict

Anybody remember when Akon was an actual thing? Yeah no me either, but "Smack That" was a banger.

    26. Gabriella and Troy – "Breaking Free"

    Disney

LOOK AT HOW CUTE AND ADORABLE ZAC AND VANESSA WERE AND THEN CRY FOR YEARS THAT THEY'RE NOT STILL TOGETHER NOW. God bless 2006.

    27. Bob Sinclar & Cutee B feat. Dollarman, Big Ali and Makedah – "Rock This Party"

    Tommy Boy Records

When this came on, the party really started. I mean, you had to do as the lyrics told you, and they were telling you to DANCE.

    28. Amy Winehouse – "Rehab"

    Island

They try to make me go to rehab and I say no because I'm about to win me a ton of fucking Grammys, bye.

    29. Beyoncé – "Irreplaceable"

    Columbia

Bey blessed us with this pearl in 2006 and it's still a go to song when a fuckboy thinks he can take liberties. Get to stepping, your replacement's on his way babe.

    30. Girls Aloud – "Something Kinda Ooooh"

    Fascination

Everybody had a good time when this came on, but in 2015 we still don't actually know what that something kinda ooooh is...

    31. Justin Timberlake feat. T.I. – "My Love"

    Jive

Everybody complained in 2013 that Justin's songs were basically the same length as a feature-length movie, but he's been doing it for a while. In 2006, he released this bop, which was nine whole fucking minutes.

    32. Leona Lewis – "A Moment Like This"

    Syco

Let's be honest, everybody should've just gone home in week one of the X Factor in 2006. Leona went on to have iconic songs such as "Bleeding Love", but 2006 is where it all started for her.

    33. Justin Timberlake – "What Goes Around... Comes Around"

    Jive

Basically JT ran 2006. End of.
