People Had A Lot Of Thoughts After Chrissy Teigen Played With A Deadly Bug Next To Her Daughter

"No biggie, just a Tarantula Hawk Wasp that can put your arm in a state of paralysis."

Chrissy Teigen and her family are currently away on what looks like a pretty great holiday in Bali.

Now when us regular folks go on holiday, we usually have to contend with a lot of nasty little bugs, and it turns out that celebs don't get a free pass either. In fact, Chrissy documented one of the bugs she encountered in Bali in a video with daughter, Luna.

time for another game of “what’s this bug!?”!

The bug doesn't seem to be particularly harmful to my very untrained eye. Even little Luna was like, "What's the big deal?" But it turns out that some people knew exactly what the bug was, and apparently there was a LOT of reason to panic.

I don't know about you but a "Tarantula Hawk Wasp" doesn't exactly sound like the kind of guest you want to invite to the party.

@chrissyteigen The Tarantula hawk wasp has an extremely painful sting. Female TH Wasps attack tarantula spiders, lay their eggs inside of them, and the eggs slowly eat the spider from the inside.

I would personally like to keep my arm, and I'm sure Chrissy does too.

@chrissyteigen no biggie just a tarantula hawk wasp that can put your arm in a state of paralysis when stung by.

Well once Chrissy learned what it was that she'd been holding with her daughter, she was a little confused because the bug had seemed so nice.

So she came up with the only reasonable excuse.

But once people learned what the bug was, they had a lot of feelings.

So much so that Chrissy took to Twitter to defend herself against holding the bug so close to Luna.

Oh dear here comes the fun..okay should I not hold potentially deadly creatures? no. should I do it around my daughter? Super no. But it crawled on me and seemed injured and well, not angry, not scary. And I’m normally super freaked (remember house centipede??)

In typical Chrissy Teigen style, of course.

I put it down gently and he crawled right back. maybe it was my reincarnated relative. Or puddy the bulldog. Either way, everyone is okay and the world continues to turn.

She then gave a little explanation as to why she decided to pick it up in the first place.

Unconfirmed. Twitter followers say tarantula hawk wasp (how a thousand people “know” of this bug, I do not know) and actual entomologists are divided (no actual entomologist says tarantula hawk wasp) - either way, it was a um..ballsy move. I blame the heat AND MY WARM, KIND HEART https://t.co/X8LPfNvQjM

Before concluding the whole story nicely.

Anyhow bug and i are friends now. And perhaps with time, lovers.

Anyway, Tarantula Hawk Wasps? Catch me outside never, how 'bout that?
