    Here's How Much Money Celebrities Have Been Donating To Coronavirus Relief Efforts And Whom They've Been Supporting

    Across social media, celebrities have been revealing eye-watering sums of money that they've donated to various charities. Here's a full list...

    Ever since the coronavirus outbreak began spreading around the globe, celebrities have been donating to good causes to try to help those in most need during this difficult time. Here are some of the ones who have publicly announced their donations and chosen charities...

    Kylie Jenner donated $1 million to help purchase protective gear for health care workers and first responders.

    According to an Instagram post by Kylie's doctor, Thaïs Aliabadi, the makeup mogul and billionaire donated the money to help buy protective clothing, such as masks and face shields.

    In the post, which Kylie liked, Dr Aliabadi said: "THANK YOU @kyliejenner ❤️. You are my hero. This generous donation will help save many precious lives."

    Through her Clara Lionel Foundation, Rihanna donated $5 million to be distributed between five organisations: Partners In Health, Direct Relief, Feeding America, the International Rescue Committee, and the World Health Organization.

    In a post on the the foundation's Instagram page, it was revealed that the money would go towards "[preparing] communities [with] critical protective gear, medical supplies, equipment and access to food across multiple countries".

    It was also reported that the prime minister of Barbados, Rihanna's home country, had revealed that the singer and entrepreneur had offered to pay $700,000 for ventilators to help with coronavirus treatments.

    Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively donated $1 million to be split between two food bank charities: Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. Ryan also pledged a portion of profits from his Aviation gin company to the United States Bartenders Guild.

    Last week, Ryan and Blake announced on social media that they would be splitting $1 million between two food banks based in the US and Canada. If that wasn't enough, Ryan announced on Wednesday that his gin company had started a $15,000 bar tab to help bartenders who are currently out of work. An extra 30% tip from each bottle sold until May 1 will be added to the donations.

    Taylor Swift donated an unspecified sum to the World Health Organization and Feeding America. She also donated $3,000 each to a number of fans around the world who are currently struggling.

    Earlier this week, you might've easily mistaken the year for 2016 when that infamous phone call between Kanye West and Taylor Swift, which kickstarted their feud, leaked in full. However, rather than fuel the drama further, Taylor diverted people's attention to the current coronavirus outbreak, saying in an Instagram story: "If you have the ability to, please join me in donating during this crisis."

    It was also recently revealed that the singer had been direct messaging fans who had said they were struggling under the current circumstances, gifting them $3,000 each.

    Angelina Jolie donated $1 million to No Kid Hungry, an organisation that strives to end child hunger in the US.

    In a post on the organisation's website, it was revealed that the Tomb Raider actor had recently donated the money to "provide meals for children from low-income families".

    Gwyneth Paltrow, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Mila Kunis all made substantial donations to a fundraiser for frontline responders.

    Both Gwyneth and Arnold shared the fundraiser on social media, writing that it was important to be able to protect frontline responders and health care workers with protective gear in the fight against the coronavirus.

    According to a list of donations on the fundraiser's site, Arnold donated $1 million, while Gwyneth and Mila donated $100,000 each. The fundraiser has since raised more than $3 million of its $10 million goal.

    Ciara and Russell Wilson donated a million meals to Seattle food bank Food Lifeline.

    Last week, Ciara and Russell announced on social media that they had donated 1 million meals to their local food bank in Seattle, encouraging others to donate in their own area. "We can all make a difference together," Ciara wrote on Instagram. "Let's all keep the Faith during this difficult time."

    Ariana Grande revealed she had donated to and was supporting a number of organisations, including Opportunity Fund, GiveDirectly, Feeding America, Croce Rossa Italiana, and the World Health Organization.

    After criticising people who were refusing to self-isolate during the coronavirus crisis, Ariana urged people to take the current situation more seriously. In an Instagram story, she said: "My heart hurts for the small businesses, individuals and families affected by all of this. I am supporting the organizations below and if you are able to, you should too."

    Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos reportedly donated $1 million to help with the purchasing of ventilators and to help provide shelter to women and children who are homeless in New York City.

    According to People, Kelly and Mark quietly made a substantial donation to help with coronavirus relief efforts. This included donating money to the New York Governor's Office to help purchase ventilators, and also donating to WIN, an organisation that offers support and shelter to women and children who are homeless in the NYC area.

    Kanye West made unspecified donations to We Women Empowered, based in his hometown of Chicago, and Los Angeles–based organisation the Dream Center.

    While all the latest drama with Taylor Swift was kicking off, Kanye reportedly made donations to two organisations in a bid to help those struggling during the current crisis.

    The owner of We Women Empowered, Josephine "Mother" Wade, said of the donation: "When I got that call, that Kanye West wanted to help the elderly in Chicago and he chose his hometown in the South Side, his old neighborhood, I was beyond words. And in one phone call, in an instant today, our world was changed."

    Justin Bieber donated an unspecified amount to the Beijing Chunmiao Children Aid Foundation, offering his support to the country of China.

    In February, while China was dealing with the peak of its coronavirus crisis, Justin posted a message on Instagram, saying: "China we stand with you as a collective humanity and have made a donation to support."

    Gigi Hadid donated the cost of making a huge meal for her family to NYC nonprofit organization, God's Love We Deliver.

    In an Instagram story, Gigi said that while she couldn't cook for all of her friends and family because of self-isolation and social distancing, she would instead be donating the money it would cost to make the meal to God's Love We Deliver, a charity that cooks and delivers medically tailored meals to those living with serious illnesses.

    Kristen Bell donated $150,007.96 to the No Kid Hungry charity, revealing later that there was actually an adorable reason that the sum was so precise...

    "When my kids overheard me making the donation, they asked if they could also donate the money from thier piggy bank," Kristen wrote on Instagram. "I couldn't have been prouder to add that extra, and important 7 dollars and 96 cents."

    Jimmy Fallon donated an unspecified amount to Feeding America, encouraging others to do the same.

    The late-night chat show host tweeted: "My family made a donation to @FeedingAmerica, who are working tirelessly to feed those in need around the country."

    He added: "Any donation is GIANT."

    Shawn Mendes donated $175,000 to the SickKids Foundation, which is based in his hometown of Toronto.

    Earlier this week, Shawn announced on social media that he'd be donating the money in order to help "support the urgent screening and prevention" of the coronavirus. He added that all donations made to his Shawn Mendes Foundation would go towards the same charity, as well as relief efforts made by the World Health Organization.

    Justin Timberlake donated an unspecified sum to Mid-South Food Bank, a charity based in his hometown of Memphis.

    Justin made the announcement on social media last week, writing: "This is a crazy time, but remember we're all in it together."

    He added that his donation would help to "deliver nonperishable food" so families could stay at home and self-isolate.

    BTS's Suga and Parasite director Bong Joon-ho reportedly donated around $164,000 to help coronavirus relief efforts in South Korea.

    Both Suga and Bong Joon-ho donated more than $80,000 each to the Hope Bridge Korea Disaster Relief Association, which the organisation reportedly confirmed.

    As a result of Suga's donation, fans of BTS also began pledging money in support of coronavirus relief efforts. According to local reports, donations exceeded 400 million SKW — or approximately $333,000 USD.

    Donatella Versace and her daughter, Allegra, donated €200,000 to the intensive care department of San Raffaele Hospital in Milan.

    Posting on Instagram earlier this month, the legendary fashion designer revealed that she and her daughter had made the donation, writing: "It is important to be united and support however we can to help all those who are in the front lines, fighting every day to save hundreds of lives."

    Earlier this week, Donatella also published a letter in Vogue, urging people to listen to precautions that have been laid out by the Italian government.

    And Jimmy Kimmel has revealed that he will be donating to a different charity every day during his quarantine. So far, he has donated to No Kid Hungry, the American Red Cross, Feeding America, the USBG Foundation’s Bartender Emergency Assistance Program, the LA Food Bank, the World Central Kitchen, and Meals on Wheels.

    Like every other chat show on TV right now, Jimmy Kimmel Live! has halted filming while the coronavirus outbreak continues to spread. Instead, Jimmy has started filming minilogues on YouTube, where he recently made the announcement about donating to different charities every day.
