I’m going to add my two cents. I have a degree in Music. Am I searching for jobs? Absolutely, but I’m looking in other fields, because while I was in school, I had office experience. It isn’t impossible to find a job with a BM or BA, because in the major you gain a lot of skills that other jobs (not related to the major) require. This is a poor example for other theatre/music majors. You can take some accreditation classes, become proficient in Office, buy a book and learn some computer languages. You have to have a backup plan, but just selling your degree and deciding that you need a sugar daddy to make your dreams happen? That’s bullshit. I still want to pursue my dreams, and that’s ok, but what is necessary for my dreams to become a reality is a job and money and healthcare. I What about loans? A job. That’s all that is needed, and it takes months to get a job - I only started getting interviews after a month of applying. It’s really boring and tedious and tiresome, but at the end of the day, I’m not going to be asking for handouts from strangers (people who are also trying to pursue their dreams, and are trying to pay off their loans and make a life for themselves).
