Although we saw promising new comer Tori Kelly slay next to legend Stevie Wonder and uber talented Jennifer Hudson sing the house down at Prince tribute at last Sunday's BET Awards all of the buzz surrounded the passionate drummer Sheila E. For those who do not who Sheila E is (it's ok you aren't the only one) she is for a lack of a better word Prince's protege. Prince discovered Sheila E at a concert in 1978 and her King Prince lit up the 80's with Sheila providing vocals on its such as "Erotic City" and a little song titled "Purple Rain". Sheila E was with Prince over 10 years even managing to have a decent solo career with a big hit in "Love Bizarre". If you're ever curious about her relationship to Prince just fall down a Google or YouTube hole of her performances and you'll realize that they're are basically the same person on stage. With these things in mind I don't think they could've found anyone better to close out the tribute for King Prince the right way (all tea no shade Madonna).
