Step 7: Select the weft of hair that will best fit the section. You will continue to do this for each section.

If you have clip-in hair extensions with only one clip each, you can start with two wefts for the first section of hair. Space the clips about two inches apart.

Step 8: Use small hair elastics to create sections of hair the same distance apart as the extension clips.

The rubber bands will prevent the clips from slipping off of your hair. Keep them in your hair the entire time you're wearing the extensions.

Step 20: If you parted your hair on the side, create the next section toward the side with the most hair — not directly in the middle of your head.

If you parted your hair in the center, you can continue placing the wefts at the center of your head.

How To Wash Clip-In Hair Extensions

*Note: Only use shampoo and conditioner on extensions made of real human hair.

• Remove hair extensions from your head.

• Use a wide-tooth comb to remove all knots and tangles from extensions.

• With lukewarm water, gradually wet hair, combing as you moisten the hair to keep it from becoming tangled.

• Using a sulfate-free shampoo, wash the extensions from the top down.

• Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water, moving from the top down.

• Apply a lightweight conditioner, using more toward the ends of the hair and less toward the top.

• Wrap hair in a towel and gently press out the excess water.

• Comb through the extensions with a wide-tooth comb. Air dry.
