This Is A List Of The Most Popular Halloween Costumes This Year, Because Nothing Sucks More Than Having The Same Costume As Someone Else

Halloween is around the corner and the best part is obviously dressing up.

Well, pump the brakes for a second. Shopping site Lyst and Pinterest combined their data and did some scientific number crunching to tell us what they think will be the most popular costumes for Halloween this year.

For better or worse, here's what they are:

10. A mermaid.

Apparently, they're going to be a big part of our world (*ba dum tiss*) this Halloween. Lyst reported there were more than 1.4 million saves on Pinterest for "mermaid leggings" since July. I wonder if there was also an increase in searches for seashell bras.

9. A unicorn.

2017 was a time to be alive for unicorns. Lyst says that searches for "unicorn" are up 130% since May. They're the most popular animal that never was.

8. A hippie.

This is probably one of the most classic last-minute Halloween costumes. Lyst reported that there is a 150% increase in patterned flares since June. However, we all know we have that one pair of flares in the back of our closet we use when we don't have a costume.

7. The cast of Baywatch.

Who doesn't love to emulate a Baywatch character? Lyst had a 240% increase in searches for "red one-piece swimsuits". Everyone is going to be running door-to-door in slow motion to trick-or-treat.

6. The cast of Game of Thrones.

These killer costumes are going to make their way up your front porch this year. Lyst said they're seeing roughly 4,000 searches a day for black and grey fur stoles. The stoles could be repurposed when it gets cold during the winter, too. It's a win-win for everyone.

5. Wonder Woman.

Yeah, that's right. You knew she'd be on here somewhere. The Lyst report shows searches for red corsets are up 115% this year, and sales of chunky gold cuffs are up 15% since this June. Aside from a blue skirt, the only other thing you'll need is a strong sense of bad-assery.

4. A giraffe.

I don't know, guys. My eyebrows furrowed when I saw this one, too. Get ready for this: Saves on Pinterest of giraffe makeup and costumes are up 1200% from this time last year. Do we have a unicorn rival?

3. Belle from Beauty and the Beast.

Get out your enchanted candelabra, because Pinterest is seeing a 680% increase in Beauty and the Beast pins. Whether it's the yellow dress or the blue dress with the apron, we can all thank Emma Watson for reigniting the desire for this iconic Disney look.

2. The kids from Stranger Things.

There has been a 40% increase in Pinterest saves for Stranger Things images. You might be thinking, "Maybe people just really like pictures of the cast of Stranger Things." Well, Lyst says that they're already seeing an increase in searches for trucker hats and '80s tees, so maybe not.

OK, OK, you probably saw "it" coming from a mile away. Pinterest saves for clown makeup are up 941%, according to Lyst. Please stay away from balloons in sewers this Halloween, okay?
