This is an actual FACT!
While it is extremely rare, in some cases pregnant women have released an egg during a pregnancy and the egg has become fertilized. This is called superfetation, and can result in a pair of twins from two different fathers. "Whoa" is absolutely right!
Totally and completely fiction!
Though it's tempting to believe this old wives' tale (along with that whole "a baby girl steals your beauty" thing), there's no scientific proof that the sex of the baby has any bearing on your amount of morning sickness. So don't paint your nursery pink just yet!
Totally terrifying...AND TOTALLY TRUE!!
In 1945, 25-year-old Beulah Hunter birthed a healthy baby girl after 375 days of pregnancy, carrying her baby about three months longer than the average pregnancy. Wowza! Though there were (and are) those who were skeptical of this claim, it was purported to be true based on the dates of Hunter’s first positive pregnancy test and last menstrual period. Why was it longer? The baby was said to have developed more slowly than a typical baby.
This one's all the way FICTION!
While there are chemical fumes in nail salons, it is totally safe for women to get manicures as long as the salon has good ventilation and hygiene practices. So go on and pamper yourself, girl. You deserve it.
Yup, that's a FACT, guys!
Studies have proven that nipple stimulation does help bring on labor by causing your body to release oxytocin, which triggers uterine contractions. But this can be dangerous for high-risk pregnancies so consult your doctor before trying.
Strange, but totally true!
Many women do experience strong cravings for non-edible items like soap, soil, and even charcoal. This is called pica and it often indicates a vitamin deficiency. And you thought your pickles and ice cream cravings were bad!
This statement is total FICTION!
Unless your doctor says otherwise due to your personal health risks, you can have a totally safe, healthy vaginal childbirth after a C-section (called a VBAC), if you and your doctor so choose.
This one's totally true — WHO KNEW?!
Turns out, foreplay and physical contact like spooning and cuddling helps raise the male's sperm count, resulting in a better chance for fertilization. A little skin-to-skin never hurt nobody!
This one is a big little lie!
While morning sickness might strike more often during the first trimester, for many women the nausea and vomiting return in the third trimester with a vengeance. And some women even have nausea throughout the entire pregnancy! Yikes.
