Congratulations, you have received one of the highest honors in any organization!
You walk out of the meeting that you have been pinned like you own the place.
But soon after, you learn about what really goes into the position.
You come in excited to shake up how things are run around here.
You want to hear what everyone is thinking, what everyone wants to see with the upcoming year.
But then you get to learn why things have been run as they are.
First time you have to sit in on enforcing these rules can be rough.
Not to mention when you have to start going through and budgeting these fun new activities everyone wants to try.
You want to keep your cool, so you just fake it until you make it.
And you try to stay relatable through it all.
What it feels like the first time one of your Vice Presidents does something new and innovative that the entire chapter loves.
What it feels like when anyone tries to belittle the work that goes into being an executive officer.
Before you know it, it's time to start talking about who the next potential president could be.
But you know it will be okay because you watched as one of your officers became as passionate about your organization as you are.
And you know that you will be there if she needs you through her time in office.
And when it's over, you know you have walked away more ready than ever to take on the real world. But, you will always have a home to come back to.
