Baked Apple Breakfast Bowl

Warm baked apples, smooth Icelandic style yogurt, and tasty walnuts... Could there be a better way to start your day? 🍏⏰

SERVES: 2

INGREDIENTS
2 Granny Smith apples
15g butter, melted
30ml honey
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp ginger, minced
Juice of 1 lemon
50g walnuts
300g Arla Skyr Pouring Yogurt Natural
Fresh mint, to garnish

PREPARATION

  1. Preheat the oven to 170°C. Lightly grease a baking dish with butter.

  2. Core and quarter the apples, add to a medium bowl.

  3. In a small bowl, combine melted butter, honey, cinnamon, ginger, and lemon juice.

  4. Pour the honey mixture over apple pieces, stirring to combine.

  5. Transfer apples to the greased baking dish.

  6. Cover with kitchen foil, and bake for 30 minutes.

  7. Remove foil, add walnuts, and bake for an additional 15 minutes until apples are tender and there is a syrupy sauce in the bottom of the dish.

  8. Divide Arla Skyr Pouring Yogurt between two bowls.

  9. Use a spoon to divide the syrupy sauce on top of the yogurt, topping with apple pieces and walnuts.

  10. Garnish with mint leaves.
