An Ode To Women

A poem dedicated to women & mothers everywhere.

I dedicate this poem to my mother & all others out there - you all deserve a fine pair of shoes, but you deserve love & respect so much more.

The first poem I wrote was received very well & that inspired me to continue writing them. In receiving such support, I've experienced a resurgence of passion for writing that I have lacked for some time. Now, in my attempts to continue on with what I love, I've written a second poem. My newest poem is based off this famous quote from Marilyn Monroe: "Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world."

Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world.

Make 'em shine, make 'em sparkle, bedazzle 'em with pearls.

Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world.

Though she needn't them shine for her to know she's divine.

Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world.

Though she needn't them sparkle for the world marvel.

Give a girl the right shoes and she can conquer the world.

Though she needn't the pearls to cause heads to whirl.

Give her a voice, give her a name, give her respect for she is a dame.

A woman of class, a woman of honor, a being so grand we know not what to call her.

For she is beautiful, she is kind, and has conquered worlds since the start of time.

So give her the shoes, then give them again, and give them the strength of a thousand men.

For women are strong, strong as men, and need strong shoes to support them when

They conquer the world, time and again, and do so while carrying this world of men.

For women are life, women are mothers, and without women there would be no others.
