Ayn Rand’s “The Fountainhead” got me to really take an active role in my life and shaped my outlook and opinion on everything. I read this book when I was 14 and had no idea why I was following the path that I was, or maybe I just lost my way (and for someone at my age then to think like that was depressing and lonely). Reading about how the main character pursued his dreams and didn’t give a shit what people said to him about it and still succeeded where many thought he’d fail motivates me. I still re-read it whenever I need that bit of faith in myself.
