On December 14, Sotheby’s will auction off 44 letters Charles Schulz sent to a woman named Tracey Claudius in 1970 and 1971.

He was still married to his first wife at the time (they divorced in 1972), and did not successfully convince Claudius to marry him. Sotheby’s expects his efforts to net $250,000 to $350,000.
