Mum Bianca Dickinson was taking photos of her two-year-old daughter Molly when a deadly eastern brown snake crept in behind the toddler and joined the happy snap.

Dickinson told the ABC the incident occurred at their home in Kaniva, western Victoria.

"I was looking through my camera lens [when] I saw something move in the corner of my eye and actually thought it was bark coming off the tree."

No big deal, but the eastern brown is responsible for more deaths in Australia than any other snake.

Thankfully, no one was hurt. The snake continued on its journey and Molly had no idea about the close encounter.

"Maybe in years to come she'll have a look at it and see how lucky she was to escape," mum said.
