Excitement is building towards the first edition of RPMM Festival in Porto on July 28th and 29th 2018. The historic city of Porto is one of Europe's oldest cities and is a cultural hub of beautiful architecture, the infamous Douro river and UNESCO Heritage Sites. Here we round up 5 attractions you must check out whist visiting Porto...

1. UNESCO Heritage Setting

Stemming back to the 12th century and earlier, Porto is one of Europe's most ancient cities. Famed for its production of Port and shipping trade, the city boasts some of the world's most beautiful historic offerings. The festival will offer guests the chance to explore this beautiful city whilst enjoying the musical offerings by night.

2. The Historic Port Wine Cellars

When visiting Porto it's imperative that you explore the underground wine cellars of the city. The wine got its name because of the fact Porto was where the wine ages and is shipped from to all over the world. A visit to the Port wine cellars is a mandatory activity during any trip to Porto.

3. World Class Festival Visuals

RPMM takes place across the beautiful and historic listed building - Alfandega, which will be brought to life by artistic director Jonny TV famed for his work with Chemical Brothers, Primal Scream, Rolling Stones and many more. With a big focus on making the venue into a contemporary and expressionist heaven and cues from pop art and surrealism this is sure to be an experience to remember.

4. 12th Century Listed Building

The main venue for RPMM Festival is the stunningly beautiful and historic listed build - Alfandega, a multi-functional space that is located in the historic city centre of Porto, right along the Douro River. Back in the 12th century the building was a bristling centre of the shipping trade and will be brought to life by the vision of Johnny TV.

5. Exceptional DJ Talent

Musically the first names out of the bag are serious talents, with Rumors boss Guy Gerber and Innervisions co-founder Âme bringing the warm, melodic and late night house sounds, while Crosstown Rebels boss Damian Lazarus plays live with Ancient Moons and is joined by chief label act Francesca Lombardo, with another special live show coming from Ghostly associate and Detroit innovator Matthew Dear. To top of the first wave lineup will also be house tastemaker Darius Syrossian. As such, many forms of house and techno will all be on offer from these underground stars.
