1. The Toxic Lady

2. The Watcher House

A family bought a house in New Jersey in 2014 and still hasn't moved in, because it immediately started getting threatening letters from someone called "the Watcher" with messages like "I watch and wait for the day the young blood will be mine again."

3. The Disappearance of Nicholas Barclay / The Impostor

In 1994, 13-year-old Nicholas Barclay went missing and six years later someone called, claiming to be him. He moved in with Barclay's family, until a private investigator noticed the new Nicholas had different ears. He was actually an impostor named Frédéric Bourdin. Where is the real Nick?

4. Mr. Cruel

An unidentified Australian man raped three girls in Melbourne in the late '80s and early '90s, and is the prime suspect of the kidnapping and murder of a fourth girl. He has yet to be found, and since no one knows his name, the Australian media refers to him as "Mr. Cruel."

5. The Circleville Letter Writer

Residents of Circleville, Ohio began getting anonymous, threatening letters in 1976. Mary Gillespie was a main target. Soon after, her husband ended up dead from an alcohol-related accident, though he wasn't a drinker. A jury found her ex-brother-in-law to be guilty of writing the letters; but then he began receiving his own letters in jail. Who was the Circleville Letter Writer? What did they want?

6. Number Stations

During the Cold War, these low-frequency radio stations would broadcast series of numbers in synthesized voices and/or Morse code, which were believed to be for intelligence officers listening in foreign countries. Today, people think they still hear interruptions that sound just like the old number stations. Hear an example here. But be warned: It's creepy as shit.

7. The Disappearance of the Beaumont Children

In January 1966, in Australia, three siblings — Jane (9), Arnna (7), and Grant (4) — went to the beach and never returned. They were seen playing with a man near the water, and later a police officer said he saw them walking home around 3 p.m. Letters were later sent to their parents, saying they were being held hostage, but those were later found to be a hoax.

8. Brown Mountain Lights

Since 1913, a mysteries series of lights have been sighted near Brown Mountain in North Carolina — even at times when electricity has been unavailable in the area. Supposedly, the best time to see the lights is September through early November.

9. West Memphis Three

In 1993, three teens were arrested in connection to the murders of three boys in West Memphis, Arkansas. It was suggested they carried out these acts as part of a satanic ritual, but many argue that is incorrect. Evidence never proved these men guilty, and today all three men are free. So who actually hurt those young boys?

10. The Death of Max Spiers

British ufologist Max Spiers was closing in on details about UFOs earlier this year when he was suddenly found dead on a couch in Poland. Doctors said he died of natural causes, but his mom worries that someone wanted him gone. Because he sent her a text the week before that said, "If anything happens to me, investigate."

11. Missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370

Though some debris has been found and over 46,000 feet of ocean floor has been searched since this Boeing 777's disappearance in 2014, still no one can confirm exactly what happened to this plane and its over 200 passengers.

12. Mikelle Biggs

While waiting for an ice cream truck in Mesa, Arizona, in 1999, 11-year-old Biggs went missing without a trace. Her mom called her and her sister inside, so her sister went ahead. And 90 seconds later, Mikelle was gone. The wheel on her bike was still spinning, and to this day no one knows what happened.

13. The Oak Island Mystery

Supposedly this privately owned island in Nova Scotia sits atop buried treasure or rare artifacts. The biggest legend is that a formation of boulders, called "the Money Pit," hides treasure that has yet to be found, but quite a few critics say this theory has no solid evidence backing it up.

14. Cindy James

She was a nurse in Vancouver who was stalked for years, to the point where someone broke into her house and assaulted her on multiple occasions. In 1989, she was found drugged and dead. Police declared it a suicide, saying she'd faked the whole thing — even though her body was tied up with her hands and feet behind her back.

15. The Disappearance of Brian Shaffer

A college student on spring break in Columbus, Ohio went to a bar with friends and completely disappeared. The bar had CCTV at all the entrances, so he was filmed entering — but never leaving. How did Brian Shaffer just disappear into thin air? Is he alive?

16. D.B. Cooper

Known as “the only unsolved air piracy in American aviation history,” D.B. Cooper is the name given to a man who hijacked a plane mid-flight in Oregon in November 1971, extorted ransom, and parachuted away — never to be identified. Many have made connections between him and Don Draper from Mad Men.
