annak4f45e0f65 commented on 23 Anti-LGBTQ Moments From TV Shows That I Genuinely Can't Believe Got Aired

I'm the same as Goodhoodzine. I'm a cis female with short hair, I'm quite tomboyish and I work in a male-dominated sector. I've heard a lot about this sort of profile being lesbian representing, and equally, if not more, I've heard that from the LGBT community. I'm not homophobic…

As others have said, crawling synchronises the limbs and helps build neural pathways, so if this stage is missed then so are the pathways that are needed for motor skills later.

annak4f45e0f65 commented on When Did A Kids TV Show Do A Really Good Job Of Handling A Serious Subject?

CBBC is worth the licence fee on its own. They showed same sex weddings on Marrying Mum and Dad well before they were on BBC1 and BBC2. They also cover issues on My Life like living with Tourettes, and being transgender. My daughter has grown up on CBeebies and CBBC and it has been…

annak4f45e0f65 commented on 19 Non-Hit Singles From Popular Artists That Are, Frankly, Better Than Some Hit Singles

To elaborate further on "Tomorrow Is Today", it is Billy Joel's suicide note from the previous year set to music. Nowadays, everyone is writing songs about mental health but this was out of the ordinary for 1971 and he never really wrote something as personal as this again. Like the…

annak4f45e0f65 commented on What Movies Got Mental Health Right?

The Swedish film Ted, about the singer Ted Gardestad who had schizophrenia. It did a very good job of showing the man behind the condition, but also how poorly understood mental health was in the 70's and 80's, and it was largely dismissed as stagefright and an inability to cope with…

annak4f45e0f65 commented on 7 Great Things About British Grocery Stores And 6 Things That I, An American, Find Very Odd

Honestly in Canada I was so disappointed at the choice in the supermarkets in comparison to the UK, especially the lack of different price points as well. The shop was so much more expensive because there isn't the competition between supermarkets there.

annak4f45e0f65 commented on What's The Best Horror Movie You Can Never Watch Again?

I don't think I've ever seen a film that had me on the edge of my seat as much as Phone Booth. But I've never felt the urge to watch it again now that I know the outcome.

annak4f45e0f65 commented on Tell Us A Movie That Either Destroyed Or Nailed Your Favourite Book Character

My only criticism is that the best LW adaptations have a young Amy and an older Amy. An adult actress doing the limes and the ice scenes just looks strange and petulant. Florence did the best she could with those scenes though.

annak4f45e0f65 commented on 20 Unpopular Opinion Polls About "Harry Potter" That Might Get You Heated

I never understood JK Rowling needing to couple everybody up. I don't see that Hermione, Ginny and Luna need to be coupled up with men just to tie up loose ends. They're strong independent characters on their own. How many people IRL stay together with their teenage sweethearts anyway?…
