I got a pink toolbox filled with tools my first year teaching. The student told me it was a tradition in his family to have your own tool kit- I never felt more special!

I wrote the same thing! Yeah, he's ruining your meal, but it's not like we want a meltdown either! Deal with it.

I am a sibling- not a parent- but I would say that staring at us while he is in full meltdown mode is actually making things worse.
