By now, you've probably seen the new Star Wars: Rogue One trailer.

Disney / Lucasfilm
The movie takes place just before the events of Episode IV: A New Hope, while the first Death Star is being built.
The main character, Jyn Erso, is played by the wonderful Felicity Jones.

The trailer has been out less than a day, but theories are already flying about Jyn being Rey's mother.

You have to admit, there is a resemblance there.

Disney/Lucasfilm
And there's the British accent, which Rey would have been learning to speak with for the first five years of her life.

The timeline could ~potentially~ work.

Disney / Lucasfilm
Rey was born 11 years after the Battle of Endor, and Rogue One takes place about four years before the Battle of Endor, so that's a gap of 15 years between Rogue One and Rey's birth.
Felicity Jones is 32, so if her character matches her age, she would have had Rey at the age of 47, which isn't unheard of.
Of course, it seems a bit silly for everyone important to be related in the Star Wars universe.

Disney/Lucasfilm
And there's this valid question.

It could all just be fan theories and silliness.

BUT LOOK AT THEM THO.
