The new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer dropped Monday night. View this video on YouTube youtube.com This one features tons of new footage, answering a few burning questions about the state of the Star Wars universe at the start of film. This time around, the trailer focuses on each of the new main characters one by one, giving us a chance to get to know them better. Lucasfilm / Via youtube.com It starts with Daisy Ridley's Rey in her scavenger gear, sorting through wreckage for scrap. Interestingly, this is similar to how we first see Leia in Return of the Jedi, with her face obscured by her bounty hunter disguise."Who are you?" a voice asks. "No one," Rey responds. Next we see Finn, once again removing his Stormtrooper helmet. "But I've got nothing to fight for." This seems to confirm that Finn was fighting for the new Empire, but saw something that made him desert. Next up is Kylo Ren, who speaks for the first time in these trailers. Lucasfilm / Via youtube.com Lens flares abound (thanks, J.J. Abrams) as he stands on the deck of what looks to be the new Star Destroyer, looking very Vader-esque. "I will finish what you started," he says, right as we get a look at Vader's destroyed mask. What part of Vader's plan is Kylo Ren attempting to fulfill? A few seconds of John Williams' gorgeous Han and Leia love theme introduces Han Solo himself yet again. Lucasfilm / Via youtube.com Here, Han's conversation with Finn and Rey reveals that what really happened in the original trilogy between the remaining Jedi and Sith (or perhaps even the stories from back during the Clone Wars) isn't exactly common knowledge. Han has to tell Finn and Rey that it all really happened."The Dark Side. The Jedi. They're real," Han says. After a good old-fashioned hyperspace jump with the Millennium Falcon... Just let it in." Could it be that Lupita's motion-captured character is our new Yoda, providing guidance to the new generation of Jedi?
