The term "millennial" covers a pretty broad group of people, so there have been some subdivisions of it over the years. For example, "Zennials" describes younger millennials who are on the cusp of Gen Z.
Today, however, an article introduced people to a new term: "geriatric millennials." These are people who are on the older side of the millennial group, born between 1980 and 1985.
Of course, people in this age group — myself included, thank you very much — are in their late thirties to early forties, so many of them are taking umbrage to being called "geriatric."
Have we not been called enough names?
These are fighting words! We millennials might not throw hands, but we CAN and WILL flame you online. We survived the days of early AOL chat.
Gen X'ers are out here like, "first time?"
So are moms who gave birth in their mid- to late-thirties.
Others are pointing out that those of us in this weird slot have been called a lot of things, because nobody can seem to place us.
And then there's this, which...same:
When it comes down to it, though, a lot of millennials will probably agree that they can call us whatever they want as long as it makes us more employable.
...But we'll take a Costco discount too.
