Colleen Ballinger — AKA Miranda Sings — Is Going To Be In A Broadway Musical

This time, she'll be ACTUALLY singing.

You may already be familiar with comedian and YouTube personality Colleen Ballinger.

If her name doesn't ring a bell, maybe you know her as "Miranda Sings," Ballinger's character who believes she's a superstar...despite not being able to sing at all.

WELL. The haters really can back off, because Colleen is going to be in a Broadway show!

I’M GOING TO BE ON BROADWAY!!! https://t.co/bPzspSjiRt

Ballinger broke the news in a YouTube vid, revealing that she's going to be playing the role of Dawn in the Tony-nominated musical Waitress. The show's official Twitter confirmed, along with the dates of Ballinger's run.

THIS JUST IN! @ColleenB123 is joining the cast of Waitress on Broadway as Dawn August 20 - Sept 15! https://t.co/k9AEzCpun4

The role, which was originated by Jeanna de Waal and debuted on Broadway by Kimiko Glenn, is a mostly comedic one and should be a perfect fit for Ballinger — who, by the way, majored in vocal performance in college, so yes she can actually sing!

Ballinger's getting all kinds of congrats on Twitter, not least from Sara Bareilles, who wrote the show's music.

look at this little doll face. :) can't wait to welcome her to @WaitressMusical https://t.co/eUGialqVN4

The announcement is especially sweet when you realize — as Twitter user @colleenxgabbie4 pointed out — that Ballinger tweeted nearly three years ago how excited she was just to go ~see~ the show. Now she's in it!

So, congrats to Colleen! We can't wait to see her take the stage!
