Fact: Sutherland had this to say about his role in The Lost Boys: "I wasn’t aware that we were making something that was going to last as long as it has and be this iconic pop thing [...] I wish I’d been a little more mature and able to understand how cool it was to be a part of it."

    2. Jason Patric as Michael Emerson

Warner Bros., Frazer Harrison / Getty Images

Fact: Patric claims to have turned down his role in The Lost Boys twice before Joel Schumacher talked him into accepting it. "I didn’t want to wear teeth and makeup — that’s just not what I wanted to do as an actor."

    3. Corey Haim as Sam Emerson

Fact: Corey Haim and Corey Feldman, who would later become close friends, actually met on the set of The Lost Boys.

Fact: Hughes was actually the third choice for the role of Grandpa behind Keenan Wynn and John Carradine. Wynn, sadly, passed away before filming started and Carradine was too ill to work.

Unfortunately, Hughes passed away in 2006 at the age of 90.

    6. Jami Gertz as Star

    Warner Bros., Matt Winkelmeyer

Fact: Gertz credits Jason Patric with helping her land the role of Star in The Lost Boys. She claims Patric spoke to Schumacher directly about getting her an audition. Spoiler: She got the part and, of course, the rest is history.

    Warner Bros., Facebook: AlexWinterPage

Fact: When asked if he's recognized more for The Lost Boys or Bill & Ted, Winter responded, "Dude, are you kidding? [...] I literally get recognized for Bill & Ted all day, every day no matter where I am in the world, always."

    9. Brooke McCarter as Paul

Warner Bros., Chocolate Bunny Church Hill Productions / Apothecary Entertainment

Fact: McCarter said in an interview, "The longevity of The Lost Boys astounds me. It seems as if its passed on from one generation to the next."

Sadly, McCarter passed away in 2015 at the age of 52.

    10. Billy Wirth as Dwayne

Warner Bros., Alberto E. Rodriguez / Getty Images

Warner Bros., Andrew H. Walker / Getty Images

Fact: Hermann, also known for his role as Richard Gilmore from Gilmore Girls among many many others, said he had a great time working on The Lost Boys. "Boy, that was a ball [...] it was goofy and terrific."

Sadly, Hermann passed away in 2014 at the age of 71.
