The Way These Deaths Are Foreshadowed In "Final Destination" Is Filmmaking At Its Finest

This post contains both spoilers and graphic content.

I hardly need to introduce Final Destination, which became an instant horror classic when it hit theaters almost two decades and four sequels ago.

And the movie's most memorable scene? It's not even up for debate — the entire plane crash sequence is pretty much unforgettable from start to finish.

Well what if I told you this very scene foreshadowed the exact way that three characters would die later on? Well guess what? That's EXACTLY what I'm telling you.

Two days ago, Reddit user MagnumPear posted a video to /r/MovieDetails that breaks it all down...

The first of these moments comes when Tod signals to Alex to say no to a seating change. He communicates this message by miming throat-slit and hanging gestures.

Later on in the film, Tod is strangled to death in his bathtub by fishing wire.

Next up is Billy, and this one's a little less on-the-nose. As he's forlornly watching the plane to Paris take off without them, the reflection of the plane on the window passes across his face.

Well guess what? Later on in the movie, this piece of metal...

...cuts Billy's head completely in half.

And right at the end of the airport scene, as everyone is realizing that Alex's premonition turned out to be real, there's this shot of Terry standing in front of a totally harmless picture of a bus.

And Terry, well... she gets hit by a bus.

Fans of the series are sure to point out that this is far more than just foreshadowing. Death leaves clues behind, like this one that tipped off Alex that Tod was in trouble:

And in Final Destination 3, the doomed characters study photos they took at the amusement park in an attempt to avoid the fates Death has in store for them.

Anyway, enjoy the rest of your day!
