One Of The UK's Biggest Landlords Has Banned Renting To "Coloured People" Because Of Their "Curry Smell"

Earlier this year, Fergus Wilson banned renting properties to domestic violence survivors, single parents, and low-income workers.

Wilson told The Sun that he was "overloaded with coloured people" and that he doesn't think this move is an offensive one.

Contained in the email, which was leaked to The Sun, were statements about why Wilson wanted to ban "coloured" tenants:

"It is a problem with certain types of coloured people — those who consume curry — it sticks to the carpet.

“You have to get some chemical thing that takes the smell out. In extreme cases you have to replace the carpet."

He also added that he wouldn't be bothered by having only white tenants.

Since the news broke, people have been (understandably) outraged by Wilson's statements.

As per the latest reports, the police have issued a probe into Wilson's statements to see if any offences have taken place.
