A Writer From Kapil Sharma's Show Has Been Arrested For Murder

Ram Abhishek Singh has been arrested for the alleged murder of a rival from his village in 2009. He had a ₹30,000 reward on his head, and has been using different aliases while living in Mumbai for years.

Ram Abhishek Singh, a writer for The Kapil Sharma Show was arrested for a murder that he allegedly committed in 2009 in Uttar Pradesh.

According to the Times of India, Singh was living under a new identity in Mumbai and has been writing scripts for the Kapil Sharma Show for a while now.

Singh was arrested by UP’s Special Task Force for, along with his uncle, allegedly killing a rival from his village. The report further states that both men used carbines and a long arm firearm, and three other people were injured in the attack. Singh apparently also had a reward of of ₹30,000 on his head. His uncle, who had a reward of ₹50,000 on his head, was arrested in 2011 from Gorakhpur.

Singh had been living under a new name as Andheri resident Rohit Singh.

The police reportedly received a tip from an informant, and a photograph was found of the wanted murderer, which had several similarities with the comedy writer. Police laid a trap and nabbed him on Thursday. He is being escorted to Azamgarh.
