The Best Boutique Coworking Spaces in Every Major Tech Hub

    Workin' 9 to 5...

Unless you’ve been living—or working—under a rock, you’ve probably noticed many businesses are operating out of coworking spaces. Some of the top tech companies of the past decade, including Uber and Instagram, even got their start sharing space with other startups. The popularity of WeWork has spawned hundreds of coworking spaces across the country, but not all of them are created equal, especially when it comes to supporting budding entrepreneurs.

Whether you want a quiet, peaceful place to operate a software startup or a fun, collaborative environment to launch an e-commerce business, there’s a coworking space in every major tech city across the country to fit your company’s unique needs.

    OnePiece Work - San Francisco

San Francisco is the undisputed capital of tech, and OnePiece Work SF, situated in the heart of Silicon Valley, is dedicated to nurturing emerging startups. Both an incubator and a coworking space, OnePiece Work offers all of the perks you’d want in a coworking space (coffee, comfy chairs, and lots of light) along with exclusive events created specifically for its tech-focused clientele.

Along with its headquarters in San Francisco, OnePiece also has other locations in San Jose, Palo Alto, Santa Monica, and Santa Clara.

    Workville - New York

Located in the center of it all, Midtown Manhattan, Workville members have easy access to everything that the neighborhood has to offer: great restaurants, easy access to Bryant Park, and access to the city’s tech community. Workville’s modern design, welcoming environment and helpful staff make it the perfect place for burgeoning tech entrepreneurs to work and meet like-minded people

Workville’s amenities include free coffee, access to two kitchens, and a wrap-around terrace with amazing views of the city.

    dots SPACE - Los Angeles

Los Angeles might be best known as the home of Hollywood, but it’s also home to a bevy of tech-based companies such as Tinder and Hulu. That being said, the city is big and spread out, which means finding a comfortable, collaborative work environment is not always easy.

Dots SPACE is one of the highest rated coworking spaces in the LA area, with flexible memberships perfect for small companies that need a place to meet up a few times a week. Along with private offices as well as indoor/outdoor communal spaces, dots SPACE also offers its tenants free yoga sessions and organic fruits and snacks, must-haves for health-conscious SoCal residents.

    The Refinery - Austin

Home to South by Southwest, one of the largest annual film, media, and tech festivals in the world, Austin is nicknamed “Silicon Hills” for its cluster of high-tech companies and growing startup scene.

One of the area’s newest coworking spaces, The Refinery is an ideal workplace for creative techies that want a work environment just as artistic as they are. Along with access to snacks and events, members can take advantage of the photography studio or lifestyle shop, an in-house consignment shop that sells member-made goods and local wares.

    Workbar - Boston

Finding a workspace near home is a top priority for many workers, and with 9 locations across the Greater Boston Area, Workbar is among the most convenient coworking spaces for local residents.

In addition to part-time and full-time memberships, Workbar offers “virtual offices” plans in which workers can reserve a mailing address for package deliveries and receive access to Workbar’s workspaces.

    Atlas Workbase - Seattle

Home to Starbucks and Amazon’s headquarters, Seattle is arguably the biggest tech hub outside of the San Francisco area. While not a purely tech-focused coworking space, Atlas Workbase’s sleek, modern design and proximity to downtown make it the perfect work environment for startups, freelancers, and individual entrepreneurs alike.

For techies who want to rent a working space on a day-by-day basis, “the Lounge” provides a more casual, open-seating environment with no reservations required.

Great discussions with the @1MCseattle community this morning! Thanks to @cavnessHR and @MyPeopleNow for the wonderful presentations! #hr #gigeconomy

    Atlanta Tech Village - Atlanta

According to Forbes, Atlanta is “poised to become one of tomorrow’s tech meccas.” For those looking to relocate to a friendly city and temperate climate, Atlanta is an ideal East Coast locale to begin a new business venture.

A startup community with over 1,000 entrepreneurs, Atlanta Tech Village connects their members (or “Villagers”) with a broad network of angel investors and funding sources, as well as assigned mentors. ATV also holds regular events for its members and even has its own pre-accelerator program, which gives startups led by women and people of color the opportunity to gain direct access to community, education, mentorship, and capital.
