Upton, perhaps the most famous model working in high fashion today who isn’t a flat-chested super-thin type, appeared in a ’60s-inspired spread in the new issue of V magazine. It’s just another sign of her rising fame in an industry that is normally reticent to book models with her figure.
Upton also just appeared on the January cover of British Vogue. The magazine’s editor Alexandra Shulman said, “When I decided to shoot Kate for our first cover of 2013, it was to kick off the year with a young women who is not a stereotypical fashion model — although, let’s face it, she’s hardly a heffalump!
I still hope those rumors about her landing a U.S. Vogue cover are true — it’s so refreshing to see a model with a legit rack getting this much fashion work and nothing would legitimize her (and great racks, generally) as a true high fashion presence like a cover booking with American Vogue.
