2. Food52 never fails to innovate on kitchen basics and improve them a hundred fold. Their line Five Two is a shining star among kitchen product brands, but their curated selection of items also take the cake.
Why they're great: Food52 proves that small changes to classic styles and thoughtful design can be life-changing in the kitchen. Take their silicone lids above, for example. I have them and reach for them nearly every day since they seal almost any container, can be used as a pot lids, and are a perfect swap for plastic wrap. I don't know how I lived without them!

3. OXO products are sold at many kitchen stores, so you might as well get right to the source! Their expertly designed, long-lasting gadgets, storage options, and tools just make cooking easier — and isn't that the whole point?
Why they're great: Cooking is *so* much more work when you don't have exactly the right tools, and OXO is here to make sure you're always armed with the best. Their hand tools are ergonomic and intuitive, and while not everyone appreciates a unitasker, OXO has them in spades if you need them. Their pop storage containers are also A+ — if you want to keep everything in your pantry fresh, look no further.

4. Bed Bath & Beyond is so much more than a key setting in the saddest movie ever made, Click. Kitchen tools abound and everything from niche appliances to dependable, everyday pots and pans are readily available and well-priced. It's the perfect place to shop for your first apartment's kitchen or finally invest in that doodad you've had your eye on.
Why they're great: The sheer volume of products alone makes Bed Bath & Beyond an amazing place to one-stop shop for all of your kitchen (and home!) needs. "As Seen On TV" products and professional-grade cookware sets live in harmony here...and I think that's beautiful.

5. Made In believes everyone deserves professional-quality cookware and has designed essential pans, knives, and other accessories with that goal — and price point — in mind.
Why they're great: You really can't beat Made In's prices on high-quality essentials. Finally getting to cook in a stainless steel pan and chop with a knife that's *actually* sharp and will hold up over time is just gonna feel so good.

8. Ikea is a staple for kitchen shopping when it comes to large items like appliances, storage, and cabinetry and for cookware and tools to *fill* that cabinetry. There's no better place to pick up affordable, simple staples — the fact that 90% of the people reading this probably have the same Ikea glasses is proof.
Why they're great: To know Ikea is to love Ikea — you just can't beat the quality for the price, in my opinion. The glasses and dishes I have from there have been in by cabinets for 6+ years and will be for...ever? And while i may have upgraded some of my Ikea pots and pans, I will forever be thankful for their service as my first grown-up kitchen set. If you need to outfit an entire kitchen on a budget, Ikea is my — and many other people's — top recommendation.

9. Macy's has kitchen goods galore, and everything from pots and pans to appliances to pretty dishes are in hefty supply. It's the perfect place to get *everything* you need for a new apartment or home.
Why they're great: What sets Macy's apart is the incredible range of styles they have. You can kitchen linens for your grandma, fun dishes for your mom, and trendy cookware for yourself, all in one convenient place.

Why they're great: We've all been strolling the aisles (irl or virtually) of Target and picked up way more than we intended. That's because — for better or for worse — pretty much everything is great *and* affordable. I find their kitchen section the most tempting. The amount of cute and useful cookware, dishes, bakeware, and appliances is simply off the charts.

11. Crate & Barrel is the king of wedding registries for a reason — no other store has a collection of kitchen goods that so effortlessly combine form and function. Everything is useful *and* beautiful — just the way you want your kitchen to be.
Why they're great: Looking through the items at Crate & Barrel is an exercise in imaging a perfect kitchen — one where copper pots hang neatly over your marble countertops and your Burr coffee grinder is ready to help you prepare the perfect pour-over. An item from Crate & Barrel feels like a little slice of luxury — speaking from personal experience, it's amazing how much a simple salt cellar can make your tiny apartment kitchen feel like a fancier version of itself. And while the prices aren't the lowest, it's a real treat to get an item from Crate & Barrel, which makes it perfect for a wish-list or gifting.
