8. Ikea is a staple for kitchen shopping when it comes to large items like appliances, storage, and cabinetry and for cookware and tools to *fill* that cabinetry. There's no better place to pick up affordable, simple staples — the fact that 90% of the people reading this probably have the same Ikea glasses is proof.

Why they're great: To know Ikea is to love Ikea — you just can't beat the quality for the price, in my opinion. The glasses and dishes I have from there have been in by cabinets for 6+ years and will be for...ever? And while i may have upgraded some of my Ikea pots and pans, I will forever be thankful for their service as my first grown-up kitchen set. If you need to outfit an entire kitchen on a budget, Ikea is my — and many other people's — top recommendation.
