If you weren't aware, Taylor Swift is in court today for a trial stemming from an incident in which a radio DJ allegedly grabbed her ass during a meet and greet.
And right now, I'm pretty much giving Taylor's testimony a standing ovation from my desk. But before we get into that, let's back up for a second and do a quick recap of what's happening here.
In 2013 Taylor was doing a meet and greet when a DJ came up for a photo and allegedly grabbed Taylor's ass. After the allegations got out, the DJ was fired from his job.
The DJ decided to sue Taylor for "defamation" 'cause he lost his job. So yeah, important to note: TAYLOR DID NOT START THIS LAWSUIT. And the dude who did the alleged butt grabbing is suing HER for up to 3 million dollars.
So instead of letting this happen, Taylor is countersuing for $1. Yah, she's literally countersuing for just one dollar because it's not about the money for her — it's about proving that it's completely unacceptable to let men go around grabbing women's asses.
SO, now that we are all caught up, let's take a look at Taylor Swift's quotes from the trial today — where btw she is being forced to recount the entire experience in front of everyone — thanks to my colleague Claudia who is reporting from the trial.
This is what Taylor said when it was suggested that maybe she should be critical of her bodyguard for not stopping the groping:
"I'm critical of your client sticking his hand under my skirt and grabbing my ass."
