As anyone who has seen it will attest, Black Mirror is both a brilliant dystopian anthology series and a modern-day version of the Twilight Zone.
Yes, I realize there is a rebooted Twilight Zone!
And while the British series has been releasing new seasons semi-regularly since 2011 — and a new season or a film each year since 2016 (when it moved to Netflix) — there has been no announcement on when a new season would be coming.
And I am sure most fans of the show were hoping an announcement would be coming soon that there would be a new season in 2020.
Well, in a recent interview with the UK's Radio Times, the show's creator, Charlie Brooker, was asked when there would be a new season, and his answer was pretty frank.

Charlie thinks things are, well, too fucked up right now for a new season of Black Mirror, saying:
At the moment, I don’t know what stomach there would be for stories about societies falling apart, so I’m not working away on one of those. I’m sort of keen to revisit my comic skill set, so I’ve been writing scripts aimed at making myself laugh.
And, of course, hearing that the world was too bleak even for the creator of Black Mirror had people on Twitter sharing their thoughts about that:
