Hot Chocolate
Servings: 8–10
Ingredients:
* 4–5 ounces dark (70% cacao) chocolate 4–5 ounces milk chocolate
* 8–10 cups whole milk
* 1⁄4 cup brown sugar
* 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
* 1 teaspoon vanilla
Instructions:
1. Break chocolate into pieces, add to a large heavy saucepan, and add brown sugar and salt.
2. Over medium-high heat, carefully melt chocolate, making sure to stir until sugar is fully incorporated and chocolate has melted.
3. Add milk (1 cup of milk per ounce of chocolate) and continue to stir.
4. Bring to a simmer and stir until chocolate is completely blended into milk.
5. Add vanilla and serve.
Whipped Cream
Ingredients:
* 11⁄4 cups heavy cream
* 2 tablespoons of simple syrup
Instructions:
1. Beat heavy cream using a hand mixer until thick.
2. Blend in simple syrup.
3. Serve with hot chocolate.
