These Famous People Have Spoken Out About Being Annoyed At How They Were Treated At School

Dylan Sprouse was a restaurant host while at NYU but had to defend his decision, saying, "I feel most comfortable when I’m working and doing something, to criticize someone of that is pretty odd."

1. Emma Watson had people say things like "Wingardium leviosa" or "Ten points for Gryffindor" while attending Brown.

But she managed to still have a positive experience. She said, "I've been dealing with the media since I was 9. If I can't stand up to a few people giving me a hard time, it’s a bit pathetic, really. I've had so much worse."

She graduated from Brown in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in English literature.

2. Brooke Shields said paparazzi would try to take photos of her in the shower when she was a student at Princeton.

She revealed, "Yes, the Enquirer did try to get nude photos of me in the Mathey College shower. But the students protected me."

She graduated in 1987 with a bachelor's degree in romance languages.

3. Brooklyn Beckham had to deal with "a few fangirls" when studying photography at Parsons School of Design.

He said, "Sometimes, I have to be like, 'I’m going to be with you for like, four years, so chill.'" 

He added, "I mean, it’s gotten better. They understand and they respect it, but it’s just at the beginning, it’s such a shock to them, so it’s fine."

4. Dylan Sprouse had to defend his job as a restaurant host while studying at NYU.

Rumors began circulating saying that he lost all of his money so that's why he took the job. This prompted him to write a Tumblr post about it and in it, he said, "I am financially secure, and took this job as a way to primarily feed my over bountiful video game addiction."

He continued, "I also took this as a way to try a new experience, working somewhat below the means I’m used to, as well as a way to socialize and get out of the house. I feel most comfortable when I’m working and doing something, to criticize someone of that is pretty odd."

Dylan graduated in 2015 with a bachelor's degree in video game design.

5. Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen also studied at NYU but didn't stay for long.

The Olsen twins both attended NYU in 2004 but took a leave of absence. Ashley said, "When I came to [NYU], it was really tough for the first couple of months because I couldn't show up to some classes, because there'd be paparazzi outside." 

Additionally, Mary-Kate said she left due to her "increasing responsibilities as co-president of Dualstar Entertainment Group and to pursue personal interests." 

Neither have returned.

6. Malia Obama had 20 to 30 people asking her for photos every day during her freshman year at Harvard in 2017.

7. On Ariel Winter's first day at UCLA in 2017, she tweeted, "Well the paparazzi just successfully ruined my first day of school. Thanks."

However, she stopped attending after six months. She said, "I loved going (to UCLA); however, I overestimated what I could do at that time. I wasn't really able to get to the majority of my classes. It just didn't make sense at the time."

8. Miranda Cosgrove attended USC in 2014 and had people on campus sneak photos of her.

She said, "The weirdest part is after a day at school, I'll go on Instagram or the Internet and there will be pictures of me from school that random people took and I didn't know they took."
